Was it a bit fucked up at first thought? Maybe a bit. Either way, though, it really only took him a small amount of time for him to catch sight of his first target; of his first quarry. His intent had been to go down the stealthy route, really. Go up to it, maybe see if he could interact with it and be friendly without much other influence.[break][break]

Despite what he’d specifically requested, though, all it took was a glimpse of the Marowak by his side beginning to spin his bone around for him to realize what would come if he didn’t do anything. With deepened inhale, he closed his eyes briefly while reaching for one of the specialized Pokeballs he’d been given before tossing it at the little bear as a means of preemptive damage control.[break][break]

He reached over to gently flick the bony head of the rather trigger happy Pokemon by him afterwards. ”Seriously, Toa? C’mon,” he sighed, earning a disgruntled grumble in turn. ”Literally one job. You had…one job.”[break][break]

Apparently having a single win was absolutely unacceptable, and thus in light of the flick he’d been given, the bone keeper only let himself fret for just a moment before catching sight of its next quarry. Before his trainer could react in a timely manner again, it was already too late.[break][break]

He looked at his Marowak.[break]
His Marowak looked back.[break][break]

He preferred not to give in. He preferred not to enable him. After a slightly longer, silent exchange, though, the man slowly shut his eyes and rolled them towards the back of his head in exasperation, all while he pressed his finger against the bridge of his nose and rubbed it.[break][break]

”Fine, just go, ya fuckin’ barbarian—”[break][break]

And that was all he apparently needed to say as he heard an immediate rush of fire, followed by the undoubtedly startled and pained squeak of the next, poor soul on the warpath. As the sound of footsteps rushed off after the fact, Inigo furrowed his brows a tad more and opened his eyes to squint towards the (still breathing) egg-wielding creature as his own Pokemon rushed off to God knew where.[break][break]

Pressing his lips together, he slowly turned around and caught eyes with the nearest ranger overlooking the area before silently mouthing the words, ”I’m so sorry,” to them, pairing it with an unconfident and concerned shrug upon noting the look of what almost seemed to be fear that he was given in response.[break][break]

Thankfully for him, (but unfortunately to the Pokemon he seemed to be harassing in the distance), the bone keeper seemed to be more than occupied with other things, thus leaving him enough time to glance back and forth between him and the newcomer of a creature. Instinctively, he crouched down a little bit while reading another Safari Ball.[break][break]

Needless to say, he absolutely chucked it at the brown pelted creature when he’d snuck up from behind enough.[break]
Better it get a ball lobbed at it than get smacked with some fiery bone, right?[break][break]

And of course, a single win had to be matched by a single, overwhelming loss.[break][break]

Second verse, same as the first. Just as Inigo reached over to pick the then-occupied Safari Ball up (and took swift and careful care in hiding it behind his back as the Marowak whipped his bony little head back around), he glanced towards the side at the sight of movement from the corner of his eye. His lips pursed and pressed flatly as he narrowed his eyes, watching his own Pokemon in order to judge whether or not he, too, noticed the movement.[break][break]

The sprint that he made to check the distant graces was his answer.[break][break]

Watching for several moments as the pyromancer sprinted through, his trainer slowly turned his head forward once more; his chest lowering within a gradual manner as he released a breath that he hadn’t quite realized he’d held until then.[break][break]

Sleep well, sweet summer child… he thought to himself, scrunching his nose and furrowing his brows at the sound of his absolute barbarian of a son almost rabidy scouring the area afar. May you find the strength to escape from his psycho ass…[break][break]

Lo and behold, he got his answer as they both laid eyes on the unsuspecting grass type.[break][break]

Inigo already saw the flames on either side of the bone keeper’s weapon of mass destruction begin to flare up, and he only needed a glimpse of that to begin fumbling for the capsules on his person. A sharp, stressed hiss of a sigh left his lips as he examined each capsule before finally clicking the one he knew belonged to the dual type.[break][break]

A quietly stressed, ”Shiiiiit, shit, shit, shit—” instinctively left his lips as he clasped his hand over the device, clutching his hand over it as the creature taken by it began to struggle and shake wildly from within in attempt to free himself.[break][break]

As quick as he possibly fuckin’ could, he took the last Safari Ball he was given before tossing it at the Chikorita.[break]
Why? Honestly, it was more of a safety precaution for its own well being.[break][break]

It meant a new partner to bring home, though, so hey— a win’s a win.[break][break]
